A Week before

Most judges follow the same schedule regarding a show. They accept the assignment about a year a head of time, about 40 days before the show they design and submit to the course reviewers, then they correct/revise the design within the last week.
Then a week before the show they leisurely make copies of course maps, sort out any last minute details and on the day before the show fly to the location (job site).
BUT MOST OF US HAVE DAY JOBS THAT SUPPORT THIS HABIT OF AGILITY. The week before this trial starting the Tuesday after Memorial Day, I will be in Calgary Canada working on a Wind Tunnel that we sold in that location. I am scheduled to fly back on the Thursday evening so I can take the Friday morning flight to DFW. By my calculations the time between these flights will be 12 hours. In 12 hours time I need to get my car, drive home from LAX (2 hours), say hi to the wife and furkids, turn around and drive back to LAX, in order to fly out to DFW by Friday evening. The last time I did this I didn't go home, but this time Im going to give it a whorl. All I have to do now is to maintain that smile, and realize how lucky I am to be able to have a family to touch before I leave them again. Would I stop judging for this??? Never in a million years
